Technical
Specification
VOLVO FL6 4x2. 20 tonne 6x4 ROAD-RAIL VEHICLE consists of
a standard truck chassis equipped with hydrostatic drive.
Hydraulic axle locks are mounted on both front & rear
axles. These are used while entering and leaving track or
while using mounted equipment with the vehicle on its road
wheels. Operated by push buttons from the manoeuvre box located
at the rear end of the vehicle. Mirrors are in place for control
of rail wheels in front, mounted on driver’s side of
cabin.
Rail Travelling Device
SRS/SVABO is a well proven system, with the full vehicle weight
resting on the rail travelling device and with all brake and
driving force transferred through the rail wheels.
The
driving bogie is fitted with a turntable for easy transfer
between road and rail. It is possible to enter and leave the
track at almost any railway level crossing, which has a width
of approximately half the vehicle length. This is also possible
in curves and does not interfere with the adjacent track.
